-- Advertisment --

Gloucester City U18 girls travelled to Plymouth on Sunday 7th February and played a very hard fought game, eventually coming out on top and winning 3–2.

The girls started very slowly in true Gloucester fashion and went down to a very early well taken goal.

However they then settled down and after about 20 mins and a couple of brilliant substitutions by the management, scored a stunning goal by Rachel Jones after a very good pass from Megan Brazil

Gloucester then scored two further superb goals from Jess Millington and Chloe O’Donoghue to go 3–1 up.

Superb goalkeeping from both keepers but especially Steph Hynes kept the score at this until 4 minutes from the end when Plymouth scored to keep the end tense

This now means that the girls are in the last eight of the plate when they will again play on the 7th March 2010 (Keep your fingers crossed for a home draw, when we would then like some serious support!!!)

Special thanks must go to the parents for their support and cars!! Without which the game could not have taken place. Also to Jo Evans/Veits for travelling all the way as coach

The umpires and specifically Popeye (Richard Davey for those of you that remember him) gave Lisa Daley as MOM.
